When I was really young, I used to imagine that at night when the majority of people went to sleep in New York City, all of the graffiti and street art on the walls would come to life. Every figment of an artist's imagination, previously bound to the confines of a wall, would finally get to roam the city streets with abandon.
I still like to think this is the case. While reality is never quite as vivid as my imagination, the magic of photography keeps those sorts of dreams alive. I remember waiting in front of this mural for a long time at night for the right person to breathe life into the scene.
As the star of the cinematic scene in my mind approached, I couldn't have been happier. She walked onto this colorful urban set and it was as if she had merely leaped out of the mural only moments before.
