Image Fulgurator Pranks Tourist Photos
Ok, here's a device someone obviously spent a lot of time creating to produce questionably "hilarious" results. Called the
"Image Fulgurator", the device was created by this German dude Julius von Bismark -- no, we're not making this up -- to invisibly project text onto a landmark, or some other such oft-photographed structure, that appears only in the captured photo. The Image Fulgurator is triggered by the flashes of other cameras so, for instance, if someone is taking a picture of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, when they look at their pictures later they'll see writing on it that says "Jerry Lewis Sucks!" or some such thing.
While it's not exactly George Carlin-type humor, the Image Fulgurator is certainly awesome looking and is guaranteed to get you stopped by Homeland Security. For full details on how it works check out this handy chart (click to enlarge):
Also, here's a rather drawn out video showing the Image Fulgurator in action. The payoff's at about the 2-minute mark:

"Jerry Lewis Sucks!" - you couldn' have found any worse example, giving that a bad example leaves the impression this guy is some prankster.
But the artist made this device with the serious intention to critizice.
This post is biased and to me doesn't do the idea behind the Image Fulgurator justice. It reads as if you couldn't take that some German dares to criticize the US (as in the video).
