Sensational Photos of Isolated Tribe in Brazil
Here's one of those extraordinary photos that becomes news all by itself. Aerial pictures released yesterday by Brazil's National Indian Foundation show a group of indigenous people who have no contact with the outside world. The people are described as isolated and unidentified. They were photographed in a remote area along the Brazil-Peru border between April 28 and May 2 during 20 hours of survey flights by FUNAI, a government group that tracks indigenous tribes.
The photos were quickly distributed all over the world by the AP and other news services. They aired on international television and are among the most popular stories today on online news sites. I wonder how the men in these photos – who aimed bows and arrows at a low-flying airplane – would feel if they knew their pictures had been broadcast around the world.
