How To Shoot A Story About Wheat Prices

As part of a news package about high food prices, Washingtonpost.com has published a beautiful photo story by Michael Williamson about the growing of wheat. It's also displayed prominently on the newspaper's front page today. The pictures show farms and farmers in the heartland of the U.S.

I was enchanted by the first photo of the online slide show, which shows a pitch-black dog leaping into a wheat field. Perhaps this is an accident, but the composition reminded me Andrew Wyeth's "Christina's World" (see comparison below).
