PMA 2008: Moab Somerset Photo Satin paper

Box_sps300_sm Yes, we know PMA 2008 ended on Saturday but there are still a bunch of interesting smaller items we haven't gotten to yet. (And it's always the small stuff that's most interesting at these trade shows since the big flashy products are usually pre-released anyways.) Specialty paper lovers will be thrilled with the latest Somerset release from Moab which is so thick and creamy it's almost a shame to cover it with ink. But you're definitely gonna want to cover this paper with ink once you try Somerset Photo Satin 300 on your printer.

Created for Moab at St. Cuthberts Mill in Somerset, England, Somerset Photo Satin 300 is the companion paper to the ever-popular Somerset Enhanced. The paper is made out of 100% cotton fibers using a traditional mould machine which gives it a soft velvety feel. With a Dmax rating of 1.75, it's designed to reproduce deep blacks in your photos. Though its ideal for B&W photography, Somerset Photo Satin 300 has an excellent color gamut as well. And at 300 GSM, the paper is a heavyweight that's great for galleries -- even if the gallery you're looking to put it in is in your home.
