Photo Op '08: Last Look at Iowa

Photoop08

With the Iowa caucuses coming up Thursday, the candidates are making a mad scramble for last-minute support. Our quick perusal of the photo wires today shows similar patterns to what we've seen the past few weeks. Supports of John Edwards ought to be wondering why he is getting less than 1/3 as much photo coverage as his rivals Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, despite his near-even standings in the latest Iowa polls.

Clinton continues to be photographed looking tired, wide-eyed or open-mouthed. If she loses Iowa, these photos will share some of the blame. Jim Young of Reuters  took this photo  that may sum up how many Clinton supporters feel:

Missbill

Mike Huckabee was again photographed holding a gun. Oh, and with a ginormous lobster.

Next Monday we'll have a more thorough look at the latest candidate photos and the fallout of the Iowa voting. Here are this weeks' stats. As a reminder, these are based on a weekly search of the candidates' names on the photo wires available on Yahoo! News.
