PDN ❤ Brooklyn
I feel no shame about using this blog to promote good photographic work by my friends, especially my neighbors in Brooklyn.
Congratulations to Darren Ching and Debra Klomp Ching on the opening Klompching, their new gallery in DUMBO. Darren is the creative director here at PDN (and a frequent lunch companion of your news editor) and his wife Debra is an experienced art curator.
The Klompching Gallery's first show is "Motherland" by photographer Simon Roberts. The opening is tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 111 Front Street, Suite 206, Brooklyn. (F train to York Street.) If you're in New York, stop by and say hello.
And while you're in DUMBO, you could visit PowerHouse at 37 Main Street and buy a copy of The Brooklynites, the new book by photographer Seth Kushner and writer Anthony LaSala (a senior editor at PDN who happens to share a cubicle with me). Their book captures the spirit of today's Brooklyn and the many category-defying people who live there.
This concludes today's shameless plugs. Thanks for your attention.
