Beastie Boys Want To Own Your Photos

Would you fight for your right to photograph the Beastie Boys? We've heard complaints about this act's concert photo coverage agreement before, but now we have our hands on the actual document. (You can see it yourself below.) It's a close-to-incomprehensible mess, but clearly you are being asked to give the Beasties "worldwide copyrights" to your photos. It also says:

"I agree that you and your successors, licensees and assigns shall have the exclusive right to exploit all or a part of the Photos in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the universe, in perpetuity, in all  configurations as you determine, without obtaining my consent and without any payment or consideration therefor."

Seen a worse concert agreement than this one? (I hear the Foo Fighters one is pretty bad.) E-mail it to me and I'll post it. Extra points if it's an act people actually care about.

Interesting document.

Foo Fighters have the same management as Beastie Boys, so the agreement is probably the same.

My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, and White Stripes have ridiculous release forms they require the photographer to sign before escorting them to the photo pit. I have copies of them.

There is no point to shooting a photo for no compensation that someone else will own.
